    JAMES NICHOLLS/

The majority of James' illustration work combines oil and chalk pastel drawings, recently diversifying with photographic and digital collage, as well as with pen and ink. One of the most important aspects of his work is colour, bold contrasting colours are used to try to get the attention of the viewer. He is particularly interested in how different colours and shapes can be used together, to produce images that at first glance may not be entirely obvious to the viewer.

An underlying theme of James' work is nature, much of his work portrays animals and diagramtic representations of amongst other things the human body and plants. Two major influences on James' work are: the paintings of the Fauves and Pop Art.

      MARK WHITTLE/

Mark graduated from Norwich School of Art and Design in Illustration under the tutelage of Robert Mason, here he developed a very distinct style involving realistic photographic drawings in pencil. Surrounding these drawings are types of varying media that are applied in a manner of different ways to create a complete image.

Since leaving university in 2006 Mark has also developed a style away from this which consists of high detailed reportage line drawings in pen to create unique looking town and city views.

        IAN CAULKETT/

Ian divides his time between the illustration studio and the offices of a small advertising & media agency where he works as a freelance creative. The position not only yields first hand experience of publishing & media but also allows involvement and learning in concept & brand building.

Ians illustration work is best described as mixed media collage, largely based on language and type, drawing from many contemporary designers as well as American pop artists. A passion for records led to some of his biggest influences in Peter Saville, Peter Blake & Stanley Donwood.
